This Easter break we were delighted to host round two of our master class series with none other than former Norwich City and Swansea City professional footballer and current U23 coach at Luton Town, Adrian Forbes.
Forbsey, was joined by over 60 local players aged 7 - 15 for an action packed day designed by the man himself. The day started with a briefing of the players and the four key sessions they’d be taken through on the day:
1. Directional possession with an emphasis around players moving the ball at speed with limited touches to improve on awareness and angles of support.
2. Small Sided Games with an emphasis based around beating a man to finish and bravery in 1v1 situations
3. Possession based practice around transition, e.g. out of possession team working hard to get the ball back then counter attacking or scoring quickly
4. Pressing
Spending time with each and every group, Forbsey was able to really pass on his experience and knowledge of playing over 350 games of professional football over a near 20 year period.
Everyone at FFE would like to thank Forbsey for his valuable time and we cannot wait to have him back to host another master class event in the future, which based on feedback, will be as popular as ever.
